5. X-Men: Apocalypse

xmnWith the emergence of the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse, the X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.(imdb)

Its another amazing and action thriller packed movie in its series which has continued its tempo from last one. The story is great and actors also did a good judgement to their characters. It is also note able that female super heroes are put forward in leading role. Overall its best movies to watch this month.

Some Facts:

-For the role of Charles Xavier, James McAvoy shaved his head. It was something he had wanted to do in the previous X-Men films.

-Tom Hardy and Idris Elba were both considered for the role of Apocalypse, but that part went to Oscar Isaac instead.

-The film was to be called “Age of Apocalypse”, after the comic of the same name. But this was changed to simply “Apocalypse” for a more ominous title, as well as to avoid comparison with Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Transformers: Age of Extinction(2014).

-Apocalypse’s quote, “Everything they built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we’ll build a better one!” is almost a direct quote of his from the animated series X-Men(1992) (“From the ashes of this world, I will build a better one!”).

4. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising

When their new next-door neighbors turn out to be a sorority even more debaucherous than the fraternity previously living there, Mac and Kelly team with their former enemy, Teddy, to bring the girls down.(imdb)

Its second installment comedy movie. directed by Nicholas Stoller.

Some facts:

-The Theatrical Release poster for this movie is a parody of another movie coming out in 2016, Captain America: Civil War (2016) which also involves two teams fighting against each other.

-Rose Byrne says to her daughter ‘do you see things that I don’t’ this is a reference to her character in the Insidious films.

-The opening of this movie mirrors the first Bad Neighbours film.

-This is the fourth film Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have appeared in together, following Kick-Ass (2010) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013) as well as Movie 43 (2013).

3. Alice Through The Looking Glass

Alice returns to the whimsical world of Wonderland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter.(imdb)

Its another beautifully crafted movie after its successor. Its a second movie from its series and this time it again going to be amaze you by its colors, special effects and acting.

Some Facts:

-Both Rhys Ifans and Stephen Fry portrayed Sherlock Holmes’ brother Mycroft. Rhys inElementary (2012) and Stephen in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011).

-Rhys Ifans who plays the Hatter’s father is actually 4 years younger than Johnny Depp.

This film marks Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s ninth collaboration together followingEdward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (1994), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010), and Dark Shadows (2012). This is also their first collaboration wherein Tim doesn’t direct, but produces.

2. The Angry Birds Movie

Find out why the birds are so angry. When an island populated by happy, flightless birds is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to three unlikely outcasts – Red, Chuck and Bomb – to figure out what the pigs are up to. (imdb)

The film is directed by Clay Katis who also worked as animator and supervisor on different (well known) animation like Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, Tangled, Mulan and Bolts. Along with him is another director Fergal Reilly who as a story board writer worked on many movies. some known are Spider Man 2, Stuart Little 2, The smurfs, Hotel Transylvania and the iron giant.

The animation in movie looks like a game but more better and vivid. Every dialogue is funny and you will really laugh out loud on many scenes.

Some Facts:

-Since the release of game in 2009 its been downloaded for 3 billion times.

-The Angry Birds Movie’s production budget of $80 million (and extra $100 million spent on marketing) makes it the most costly film ever to come out of Finland, besting the previous record holder — Big Game’s budget of $9.7 million.

-Directorial debuts for animation directors Clay Katis and Fergal Reilly.

1. Captain America: Civil War

Political interference in the Avengers’ activities causes a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man.(imdb)

If you have seen previous installments than you will love this as well. It unique from previous one as you will find them fighting with each other and you will see every super hero using its full ability. Its sounds like a Batman Vs Superman but there is nothing to compare with. I recommend to watch this in cinemas or at home with surround sounds.

Some Facts:

-The film coincides with the 75th anniversary of Captain America. 2016 also marks the 10th anniversary of the original Civil War comic book and Black Panther’s 50th anniversary.

-The longest Marvel film to date, at 2 hours and 27 minutes.

-In the film, the Falcon utilizes a falcon drone called Redwing. In the mainstream Marvel comics, Redwing was an actual falcon, which was Sam Wilson’s sidekick.

-The finalists for the Spider-Man role did separate screen tests with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., with the intent of seeing whose chemistry fit the best with both Evans and Downey.

-When the production of the film wrapped up, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie raced each other while in their super hero suits.
